Portfolio: Fotokring Flits

A photography club website from Woudenberg migrated from Joomla 3 to Joomla 5 and upgraded with YOOtheme Pro.

Fotokring Flits, founded in 2001, offers photographers of all levels the opportunity to develop their skills through a diverse program. In addition to bi-weekly meetings and outings (SOP), there are theme groups for specific interests and annual competitions with a rotating trophy. The website provides an overview of members and their photos.

The old Joomla 3 website used Community Builder for member management and JoomGallery for photo galleries and member photo uploads. The Joomla 3 template was not compatible with Joomla 5. 

We migrated the entire website to Joomla 5, integrated YOOtheme Pro, and made it responsive for tablets and mobile phones. 

Community Builder was replaced with Joomla’s core functionality. Using Joomla's user groups, tags, and custom fields, we created an easier-to-manage member overview. 

Since JoomGallery was not available for Joomla 5, we opted for Ignite Gallery. However, it did not fully replicate the old site's functionality, so we developed a custom plugin to tailor the gallery to the club's specific needs.
