During JoomlaDays 2025, Peter Martin will give two presentations showing how to make even smarter use of Joomla with APIs and the Joomla Framework.
APIs in Joomla
APIs enable data exchange between websites and applications. In this session, Peter will show:
- how to integrate external data into Joomla
- how to use Joomla 5’s Web Services API to make information available to external scripts
- practical applications of the built-in API functionality in Joomla 5.
The Joomla Framework
Joomla is more than just a CMS. The Joomla Framework consists of standalone PHP packages that allow you to build custom applications that can function outside Joomla CMS. These packages also form the foundation of Joomla itself!
Peter will demonstrate how to use the Framework with Composer and Packagist, and how to easily develop small applications with it.
