Joomla Specialist Peter loves the freedom and possibilities that open source software offers users and the sharing of knowledge in a way that you can only find in open source communities. Since 2005 he has been active as a volunteer in the international and Dutch Joomla community.
At the start of Joomla in August 2005, he became active as a regular forum user. Soon he was asked as Moderatior and later became Global Moderator on Joomla forum. Peter is also active in the Joomla Bug Squad and has tested patches and programmed improvements for Joomla. In 2016 and 2017, Peter guided some students as a mentor at Google Summer of Code (GSoC), a project to bring students with Open Source software and communities into contact.
Peter was active in the Joomla Community Leadership Team for almost 6 years. In 2017, as Joomla Operations Department Coordinator, he coordinated seven teams of volunteers and was part of the Joomla Board of Directors. See also his profile on the Joomla Volunteers Portal
In 2008 Peter helped with the organization of Joomladagen.nl and was responsible for the shop with ticket sales. Since 2013, he has helped organize Pizza Bugs & Fun meetings to teach regular Joomla users how to test patches and improve Joomla. Peter is co-organizer of the Dutch Joomla Developers meetings for Joomla developers to exchange techniques and experiences.
