Professional evening in Nijmegen

On Thursday evening, December 7, 2023, a career evening for secondary school students will be organized in Nijmegen. 

As a web designer and online marketer, Peter Martin will talk to students about the captivating field he works in. 

In his presentation, Peter will discuss the nature of his profession, the difference between front-end and back-end development, and online marketing. He will also talk about the use of Open Source Software, Joomla CMS, and Linux.

Web design and online marketing are dynamic fields that are constantly evolving. During his talk, Peter will emphasize the importance of innovation, creativity, and technical skills. It's not just about designing attractive websites, but also understanding the target audience and optimizing online presence for maximum impact.

An interesting aspect of his work is the use of Open Source Software. These are software programs whose source code is freely available to the public. It promotes collaboration and innovation in the world of technology. Additionally, Peter will briefly discuss his experience with Joomla, a powerful content management system, and Linux, an open-source operating system. These tools play a crucial role in his daily work and contribute to the flexibility and scalability of his projects.

The Career Evening is organized by Rotary Club Nijmegen-Stad en Land at Het Citadelcollege in Lent (Nijmegen-Noord). It is an excellent opportunity for young people in the Nijmegen region to discover various professions up close. Peter hopes that his story will not only pique their curiosity about web design and online marketing but also provide them with insights into the importance of Open Source Software in the technological world.
