Joomla 4.4.8 - Bug Fix Release

On Tuesday 27 August 2024, Joomla 4.4.8 was released as a Bug Fix Release. This is because the security updates for Joomla 4.x and 5.x, released on Tuesday 20 August, had caused a new issue.

The Joomla 4.4.7 security update fixed 5 security issues. However, one of these security updates caused problems with pagination in Smart Search (Smart Search) and with archived articles. It was therefore decided to release a new update on Tuesday 27 August that fixed this issue.

Bug fixes and improvements in Joomla 4.4.8:

• Fixes the bug in pagination introduced by a security fix in 4.4.7
• Fix filter for option, format, view and layout in cache and pagination
• Update dates for supported php versions
• Fix for unsafe tags in mail templates
• Translation updates

Joomla 4.4.8 does not introduce any new features. It only provides good preparation for future upgrades from Joomla 4.x to Joomla 5.x. This version contains essential updates that ensure users can upgrade to the latest versions of the CMS without any problems.
